Giving Tuesday

Volunteer New York came up with a unique idea for Giving Tuesday. There goal is to get everybody to perform charity work, so they are trying to get people who couldn't donate at least $50 to charity to pledge at least two hours for 2015. This is an easy way to get people involved in volunteering as it does not require to much commitment in their part.

Holiday Shopping Season

I view Cyber Monday and Black Friday as good things, because they allow people to save money on their holiday shopping which could potentially very expensive. However, I don't think that any shopping should open up until Friday because people should not be forced to work on Thanksgiving. If the stores are closed on Thanksgiving, I have no problem with the season being extended because the stores make money, and people don't have to spend as much money. The sales are good for all parties involved.

Apple Human Resources

Apple has off-the-job training for people who would like to become Apple Certified Trainers. People that work in the retail stores are paid hourly wages..

One job that seems interesting is a campus rep. They don't work many hours, but they are flexible. They go to campuses and spread Apple's message.

On January 22, 2002, Kmart filed for chapter 11 reorganization. This was due to great financial challenges the company was facing. Their business improved greatly, and the company became successful again.
